Cristiano Ronaldo is the world's highest-paid player

Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo is the best paid footballer in the world, receiving 12 million a year salary. This according to the recent publication of the Belgian magazine Sport Foot Magazine.

The latest edition of the magazine compiled a list of the 50 highest paid football professionals on the planet. List of course this leads to the star of Real Madrid with a sum of 12 million euros, followed by a Premier League star Wayne Rooney who, according to the same publication receives half a million less annually. Both relegate the current Golden Ball Lionel Messi to third place with 11 million annual salary.
