Why choose sites "alien" to the world?

It's not news that the World Cup is played in countries with little football tradition. From '94 to USA Today, some countries where football is not the main sport has been chosen to host this prestigious sporting event, why? I tell you some interesting facts that can answer this question.

Looking from the back 90 will be difficult to find have been played worldwide in countries without a great football tradition. We could cite the example of Switzerland and Sweden, organizers of the '54 and '58 world as the most "strange", but the truth is that after the 90s there were big surprises: United States, South Korea and Japan, and future, Russia and Qatar.

There is clearly a sports policy to bring the world into territories outside the football somewhat. Is it only to make more popular the world's most popular sport? Not at all. To understand why you choose these countries have to understand what are the consequences of a global organization in a country where football is not the main sporting attraction. To host the World Cup means having the infrastructure that that implies: stadiums, hotels, security, good connections between cities ... Many things that these sites lack. Remember in the U.S. but as many World Cup matches were played in '94 football stadiums "remodeled" for the occasion or as in Korea and Japan, we marveled with modern stadiums that were built for the occasion.

The secret is to organize a World carries a large investment, but ensuring that the investment is recovered and there is an interesting profit margin (an estimated global gross domestic product swelled by 3%). Not only that: the best in the area and infrastructure (hotels, stadiums, roads ...) stay until after the World Cup and passed it off as the host country to better positions in the world at the time to demonstrate their ability organization.

Why Qatar will host the 2022 world where previously never qualified for a World Cup? Because it has enough capital to build a huge business of building stadiums as well as being an exotic destination where you never played the World Cup ( be the first time that the World Cup is played in the Middle East.)

Is this just for the sport? That is up to each football fan. Sure there are those who find it attractive to a global dispute in these "exotic" locations, there are those who prefer to play the world where football is passion every weekend and not just every four years. Fortunately for the latter, the next World Cup event in Brazil will be the 2014, but then we have to wait and enough to return to see a World in a traditional venue for soccer.

You, dear readers, what do you think about it? If they had chosen any other venue of the candidates for the world What would have been? "I for my part I am honest and admit that I prefer watching football where football is tradition and not an exotic spectacle and would have preferred any of the candidates in Europe (England, Holland and Belgium, Spain and Portugal) before the Russian and for the election of 2022, where the country's most traditional soccer was the United States (also were candidates Japan, Australia and Korea), I honestly do not know what I would have preferred!
