The Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez gave a peculiar recommendation to their peers, asked those players homosexuals "come out of the closet so they can play without feeling released and the pressure to show something different.
Gomez 25 years and the senior player of Germany stated that "s i is a Foreign Minister who is gay and a mayor (that of Berlin) who is gay, I think professional football players should also confess."
So far the only player who has confessed his homosexuality in Germany is Marcus Urban, a player who wore the casaquilla of Thuringia until the early 90's where he hung his boots because of their homosexuality, as he himself said in a book published in 2007.
