Cesc and Torres are not made for this selection

cesc towers

I remember as far back in time, when Julen Guerrero was one of the best players in the Spanish league and one of the sensations of European football. His appearance on the football scene was booming and his goals and solvency to the Athletic zamarra not go unnoticed by anyone. However, it never succeeded in the selection. Someone said, pardon the dismissal of not remember who, while Clement was the Spanish coach, Guerrero would not succeed in the selection. The Best Years of former Athletic agreed with Clement on the bench for the national team and, indeed, Guerrero never emphasized in the selection as it did in the Athletic.

Guerrero was a playmaker with great mobility, good quality and arrival unusual goal for a player at his position, but did not quite fit in the scheme of Clement, whose guidelines, closer to pure play forwards and midfielders of all life where the figure of playmaker not linked to the rest capitulated Guerrero's aspirations to excel in the selection. Each player has its own characteristics, strengths and weaknesses, but the whole command, and if the group has a style of play according to the characteristics of a player may exploit its virtues. In the present case, that of Cesc and Torres, the current game of the Spanish team did not accompany the virtues for which both are considered two of the best players in the Premier League.

Cesc grew up in the farmhouse where so did Xavi and Iniesta, champions of the European Champions and the world. But Cesc is different from them in spite of occupying a similar area in the field. Perhaps somewhere along the way, their early 17 when he went to the Premier, his style conformed to the essence of English football, and Wenger was able to capitalize on their arrival in the rival good, superior to that of their counterparts Barca .

So different from Xavi and Iniesta while they excel in the Red, Cesc will not fit. Someone may think that Arsenal is not a typical English team, which focuses on the proper treatment of the ball, and it is true, but also that the responsibility of the Gunners midfield is unique and not transferable to Fabregas while the selection is usually shared task, the style of English football, where the transition speed of the ball is greater, where the game does not stop to think both Cesc comes in handy, it's sending in midfield or to join the attack from second line.

Using a tennis analogy, one could say that Xavi and Cesc is Nadal is Federer. I mean, both players have been compared often, but have a very different style of play and marked on the characteristics that define them. Nadal dominated the clay, there is king and no one discusses the hegemony. On land the ball does not reach breakneck speed to get on fast track, but the pot in the soil is slower and gives more time to assemble the scrimmage. In fast track, the ball bounces back with more speed and response time is less. Hence, the best of recent years has been Federer. Neither style is better than the other, only different. Xavier also has a highly responsive and think half a second quicker than the rest, but with the ball in his boots, in a style of play that fits their characteristics. If the brilliant Barcelona player on a computer jugase Backlash hiciese his greatest weapon, his virtues would look not so much.

I am a supporter of the game Torres. A team giving up possession and it goes on the counterattack could hardly find a more effective forward to The Kid for the job. Not achieve 56 goals for Liverpool in 79 games by accident or by having only a considerable speed. At Anfield he found a team and a league to fit perfectly to your style of play and Torres exploded being recognized as one of the great strikers in Europe. Their quality has allowed 26 goals to make the choice, yes, in 81 matches and is the game that has characterized the selection in recent years is of no benefit to the former Atletico.

There will always be players out of the ordinary, outsideseries that stand out in a computer or other, playing in one form or another, but they are few. Messi is an example of player who can excel in some games with his selection but his team reached another dimension. Cristiano Ronaldo is another good example (besides great match against Spain.) Cesc and Torres can excel in some games with the team because they are very good (like the Arsenal in a match of Euro), but find it hard, and I hope I'm wrong to look with utmost regularity in the nearest future.

If the Spanish team change its style, Torres and Cesc could find a more comfortable place and be both outstanding players in England, but the current selection is not the most suitable for them, at least not now. And what does not usually change.
