NDF survey results: the arbitration review

out-honking-1.jpg Six days ago in Football Notes I propose a new survey. On this occasion we thought it was interesting to arbitration be examined to find out how you value the Spanish and European referees, to hear your views on certain aspects of the regulation and possible developments in this field, find out what you think about the villarato and finally to know what you think about the treatment given to arbitration in traditional media and in our own blog.

Before turning directly to the results, we take to ask that we propongáis topics that you would like to lay out a survey. Note that the proposed business must have some length and homogeneity, they are not a few specific questions, or do not have to do with each other. Nor is it that we do them all the questions, but that the subject is exposed and explained sugiráis properly so attractive. We hope your recommendations. Now, without further ado, the results of the survey on arbitration.

QUESTION No. 1

encuesta_arbitros_01.jpg We began the survey asking you to rate the umpires. The truth is that every time they speak well of a referee, we give birth to fifty times. They are always in the eye of the hurricane and are harshly criticized weekend yes, weekends too. It is true that, given the emotions that we wake up our equipment, it is difficult to be rational about certain errors and injustices, but the fact remains that we all could use a little more sympathetic to its hard work.

Therefore, we felt that the best way to start was to give you the opportunity to put an arbitration notice of our country. The result is that the average grade of NDF that readers give to the arbitrators is a 4.51, insufficient nearly approved, that continues to be a thriller but it tells us that with a slight improvement, we would endorse their work.

QUESTION No. 2

encuesta_arbitros_02.jpg It is common to hear that, compared with the level in Spain, the European arbitration is better. This verdict should be repeated to a greater or lesser degree, if you did the same question to fans of other leagues in our continent because, not surprisingly, most of which we speak arbitrators are chosen to act in European competitions, who happen to be the best referees in each country (supposedly, because we know how things work in our country ....) However, certain that in many minds are unfortunately recorded some famous, like the illustrious Ovrebo, a classic dialectic of homo roncerus. Either way, it seems that neither the level value in excess of European arbitrage: we give an average score of 5.75.

QUESTION No. 3

encuesta_arbitros_03.jpg It is commonplace to praise the style of English arbitration, more permissive with contact and less tolerant of deception. Keep in mind that the arbitration is England's most respected and, above all, better supported by the soccer institutions. An example is the penalty of five games that he is serving the guru Alex Ferguson for sticking a super-duper cracked against a school under his tyrannical point of view, I was seriously hampered.

Anyway, I've heard many Spanish fans praise and even envy the English arbitration, which is why I raised the question of whether you would like the Spanish Arbitration is more like English. However, only 15% of voters believed that the English style will not succeed in Spain, while the other two options virtually tied: 43% believe that schools should be more permissive Spanish with contact details as well as in England, and 42% called for adopting a compromise between both methods.

QUESTION No. 4

encuesta_arbitros_04.jpg The beginning ofsy-the-homo-carazensis "> this post on the Age of the Caves media type is transcribed conversation between tribes and carazensis roncerus. There is no day that television news does not fill sports pages of newspapers and hours of radio-based diatribe on whether the arbitrators benefit / harm over Barca or Madrid. As readers of NDF is concerned, it seems that very few of you have fallen into the trap of media Caverns, which we are extremely happy to editors of this blog, because it means that the average user of NDF has half a brain and not get carried away by the noise of those who shout the loudest.

In this sense, only 5% of you said that arbitrators have more damage to Barca and 8% have sentenced the same, but of Madrid. An overwhelming 86% said that, eventually, small teams are always the most losers, although the injustices committed against them are far less publicity than in cases of white and Blaugrana.

QUESTION No. 5

encuesta_arbitros_05.jpg

In the first season was Guardiola, Alfredo Relaño, editor of Diario As, he invented a concept that was intended to call the corporate cronyism course enjoyed the club, in whose case came from Piglet to the last case no penalty whistled in against: the villarato. Well, it seems that good football club has weakened the credibility of the media campaign, well, that and that means a lot to some act in certain ways, football fans will not suck your finger, at least we you honor your presence in NDF.

Only a tiny 4% of voters surveyed believe in villarato and 23% believe that the club itself has benefited but still disagree with the term villarato. All remaining 73% stated that the villarato seems like a hoax.

QUESTION No. 6

encuesta_arbitros_06.jpg

We begin this section we devote to the regulation and possible improvements in an arbitration with a question about the new goal umpires, or referees in the background, or arbitrators fifth and sixth, they are called ... The vote was very close: 40 % see him favorably, while 33% believe that their presence only complicates the question. Finally, a significant 27% said that their presence are indifferent.

QUESTION No. 7

encuesta_arbitros_07.jpg

One of the sets of game that you think could be improved with the inclusion of technology is the phantom goal. It is assumed that, among other things, the goal umpires are to clarify the main school if a ball passes over the goal line, but I voted light of this survey, in this case the trust of our readers is closer technology to the human eye. Some 87% favor the establishment of a technological system that meets the goals ghost, by contrast, only 10% thought it would be rolling over the story.

QUESTION No. 8

encuesta_arbitros_08.jpg

The final question about the technology to improve the arbitration service, we ask for your opinion on the implementation of a query video replays for referees to resolve your concerns. 22% say not in favor of using video referees, by 78% that it would welcome. But the highlight of the data is that 78% belongs to the 63% who is reluctant to abuse the system and clarifies that only used in very specific cases.

QUESTION No. 9

encuesta_arbitros_09.jpg

In Spain we talk about a referee is sent to the refrigerator when, after a particularly bad performance, I have a few weeks out of the ten selected for each day. It is also common to coaches and / or president would dare to suggest or even publicly declaring that "does not" see such a referee duringa good time. The curious thing is that, when dealing with powerful equipment, the referee in question can spend a whole year without going through your field ...

How much better we would, I think, if these punishments were a recognized and even legislated. Therefore I raised the question of whether you would be in favor of the referees receive match ban as punishment when they commit serious mistakes. Some 79% of you agree that the referees should be punished.

QUESTION No. 10

encuesta_arbitros_10.jpg

In a debate with some friends someone came up with the idea that he would rather that, to avoid suspicion and bad excuses for losing, teams reaching the final of the Copa del Rey (later also extended to the Champions League and other competitions knockout) have a say in choosing the judge to arbitrate the meeting. His arguments, not repeat here not to go through the hills of Ubeda, convinced me and, therefore, seemed interesting to me extend the question to you. Maybe I could have explained the issue better, but it was not my intention to convince anyone. So the relevant question to most of you, 77%, does not seem a good idea.

QUESTION No. 11

encuesta_arbitros_11.jpg

Finally, the last part of the survey was booked to ask you your opinion on the treatment and the importance given to arbitrations in both traditional media and on our own. As a reader, listener and viewer, I have the feeling that too much talk about the referees and be given an importance as unfair and counterproductive. In the chapter on traditional media (radio, print and tv) the view that they were dedicated to the umpires too much ink and saliva are the majority: 77%, on the contrary, 16% considered that their role is in the right measure and 6% still appears little.

QUESTION No. 12

encuesta_arbitros_12.jpg

As Football Notes to the editors of this page we are pleased to see that the vast majority of our readers pass our editorial line as far as arbitration is concerned. NDF's team tried to distance himself from the editorial / commercial mass media, not because we seek the difference as a strategy, but because we actually see the game and business of a completely different way. So we welcome verify that 81% of you are happy with us regarding our treatment of the arbitration.

It is not gold that glitters, and fortunately, some people do not feel the same. 9% miss to talk more of the referees while 10% accuses us of being part of the Cave Culé.

Proposed survey

To end, I just want to remind you that we ask for your suggestions for future surveys. Now I leave, I am by Carazo to prepare the next campaign against the Higher Self and his henchman Portuguese.
