The derby Valencia appeared extremely attractive: Valencia, 3, against Villarreal, 4, with three points of difference between them in their particular struggle for third place in La Liga, the latter is entitled to play in the UEFA Champions League without going back to the beach early to prepare for exams in August. But it was only a matter of seeing who secured a European place, but the clash had a far-reaching regional level: forgotten Barça and Madrid, two monsters out of reach for most mortals, Valencia and Villarreal were fighting for supremacy the Other League.
Both teams have much merit. The patches sold in the summer to their two big stars Villa and Silva, in the midst of a difficult economic regeneration are making a most decent season. To which we must add the painful lower Gonzalo, captain and chief of defense, an irreplaceable part in a team with such offensive trend. Juan Carlos Garrido therefore decided for the first time this season a rear formed by five defenders, with Marchena, usually pivot, moving between the other two plants. In front, Unai Emery also opted for a defensive quintet, with whom he wanted to tie the hands of the strike partner extraordinary yellow, made by Rossi and Nilmar. And the play went right, because Villarreal failed to shoot into the net throughout the match.
