Tips for skiing in Spain

Although you think that our country is just a sun and beach destination, also has many of the best ski slopes in Europe where you can enjoy a great winter vacation without leaving our borders.

And is that more and more people who enjoy playing sports such as skiing, a sport that for many years has been associated with the upper classes of society, but today is available to most of the population .

Sierra? Snowfall or Baqueira-Beret?

The two ultimate destinations for skiing in our country are Sierra Nevada, Baqueira-Beret. The first one is located in Andalusia, in the Natural Park of Sierra Nevada, and is the winter further south in Europe. The second is set in the Aran Valley, in the heart of the Pyrenees.

If we choose the first option, it is best to stay in one of the houses in Sierra Nevada and to contemplate the wonderful views from the highest peaks.

As Catalan tracks are considered by many as the best in Spain and is a popular destination for Europeans, who often resort to renting apartments for skiing .

But it all comes down to these two places. In our country we can find important ski resorts in Aragon (Formigal) Madrid (Valdesquí), Cantabria (Alto Campo), La Rioja (Valdezcaray) or Asturias (Valgrande-Pajares), among many others.

Track types depending on our level

Having chosen our destination, it is convenient to know the different types of ski slopes to suit our level.

If you're new and we're starting, there's nothing like the green runs to go learning the basics of the sport. Once you have mastered the technique, we can move to the blue runs to get more experience.

If you already have a medium-high, we can try to slide down the red runs. And if all that is left is small and we are experts, we dare to the slopes.

So this winter do not stay at home. Get out and enjoy the snow in one of these slopes.
