Marqués Del Bosque keeps the block for the friendly against Colombia

destacado.JPG

The title is a joke. King Don Juan Carlos has given the noble title of Marquis to Vicente Del Bosque, to recognize their hard work in front of the Spanish football team on its way to the top of the world. The truth that these things sound too outdated now, but we must congratulate Vicente, how could it be otherwise received the news with humility and normalcy that characterizes him.

But let's focus on the pitch because Del Bosque has given this morning's list of 21 players who form the squad for the friendly match Spain will play against Colombia on Wednesday at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The biggest innovation is in the return to the list of Jesus Navas, after overcoming his physical problems. Still not at his best, but is slowly picking up the pitch in Sevilla, since his return, has made clear the importance of this player on the team play.

On the opposite side, are dropped from the list Puyol, Javi Martinez and Mata, for various reasons. While the central FC Barcelona is still recovering from an injury that has kept him out of eleven FC Barcelona in recent weeks, players from Valencia and Athletic Bilbao attend the under-21 selection call to lend a hand in the task of qualify for the Olympics.

Thus, almost nothing new in the list. Is logical when it comes to a block a few months ago was done with the World Cup. Although we are left with the desire to see a new face on the block to be doing some evidence (although there is no need for them, thankfully). I can think of names such as Borja Valero, Xabi Prieto, Cani and Bruno, they are signing a great season. But given that the class footballers Cesc, Cazorla and Silva even have no place in the team, few options remain for the applicants.

  • Goalkeepers: Casillas, Reina and Valdes
  • Defenders: Albiol, Capdevila, Arbeloa, Marchena, Sergio Ramos Piqué and
  • Midfielders: Santi Cazorla, Sergio Busquets, Cesc Fabregas, Xabi Alonso, Xavi Hernández, Iniesta, Jesus Navas and Silva.
  • Forwards: Llorente, Pedro, Torres and Villa
