Horse Riding. Eventing in Portugal

Once again, they are contesting the CIC in Barroca d'Alva, Portugal. Have signed up to these tests a large number of international riders. Let us emphasize that this time have registered a large number of Spanish riders.

The competitions of this XI International Competition Barroca D'Alva had begun with a series of tests, starting with Dressage on Thursday and Friday and continuing with the Cross on Saturday. On Sunday ended with the jump test.

This first weekend in March included the rider's performance in Albert CIC2 Beautiful. Riding "Hito Cp" and "Quico de Duero". He was in fifth place, the highest score being Spanish.

In the first position was CIC1 for American Elisabeth Halliday-Sharp, riding "Fernhill by Night". And as for the CIC **, victory stayed home because the victors were the Portuguese, Joao Duarte Silva with "Xaft" in first position and Manuel Grave with "Samaritan" in second position.

Although the joys of the weekend have been marred by the tragic accident rider Bruno Bouvier. During the cross-country riding "Clay III" suffered a knockdown in the fifth hurdle. The injuries caused him to death. We deeply regret this terrible loss, Bruno Bouvier was a great person admired rider and loved by all those around him. We pass from here our deepest sympathy.

We will follow closely the next test, to see if our Spanish riders continue with such positive results as achieved by Albert Fair this weekend! Because CC is one of the most complete sports and not expire the fastest horse but is the discipline, technique and courage of the binomial-horse rider all that counts.
