Today ElDesmarque Bizkaia has published a preview, a recording of a speech that Marcelo Bielsa devoted to his players at the end of last season, after the Athletic Club lost the finals of the UEFA Europa League and Copa del Rey with Atletico Madrid and FC Barcelona.
Those who have listened have not you will soon find if your desire. I'm not going to link to. And no I will not get into analyzing what was said by the Argentine coach. It's something I would rather not have heard because he never should have been made public. That is, for me, the only truly important on this issue.
The leaks are the daily bread in the sports media. There are life-and will continue to exist, every day, I guess, because technological advances facilitate this type of interference. This is normal, or, to be more fair and accurate, something standardized.
For a costume dress-understanding as synecdoche of all places and private own-spend crowd a workforce of individuals. Everyone has heard and some very long tongue. Inevitably someone leaking confidential information to the media. The informant can be anything: a player, kitman, one of the coaching staff, a manager ... even a member of the club's security, a cleaning worker, or an electrician who was passing by. I said either. The receiver of the information provided is a journalist, who sometimes joined by a friendship with the informant and others simply a settlement agreement or a business. Nothing to blame here: the journalist profession has its own inscrutable ways.
Currently we have a perfect example of the world of the leaks: the locker room of Real Madrid. Everyone to some extent, all media have alleged events of human group led by Jose Mourinho, starting with El País and specifically one of its practitioners, Diego Torres. If a quarter of what account is true, there is no doubt that in the Madrid dressing room there is a mole (or more). Moreover, one who is very good at that second occupation: other week week also we are in El País alleged truthful information the insides of the white dress.
Presumably, if that, indeed, all that counts is true Torres, Mourinho has two big problems: first, the existence per se of the mole, the second, not being able to identify when the drip of leaks is still continuing for over two years. But back to the root of the issue.
The alleged leaks of Madrid will arrive as a confession to Torres and this, in turn, published in his newspaper respecting, of course, different levels between literalism and reconstruction of facts from which it is not eyewitness. There would be plenty to talk in a debate on this issue, but I understand that a majority argue that what happens in a locker in the locker room should be blame for the leak and the informant, not the receiver. It is logical to expect that if you have to leave something, it is a frank and direct, without intermediaries or hands that are behind the stone throwing.
But what happened in the locker room of the Athletic Club goes from brown to dark. One thing is that we arrive things heard and another, very different, something private is recorded and made public as it is. That's passing the red line, pure pornography. Something that comes from a recording and not spoiled rotten born. I do not care what Bielsa said or how he said it. Until someone is committing a crime, what right was recorded without his permission?
That was, someone taped Bielsa's address to his players from within, because the sound is so clear that leaves no doubt that the microphone, the recorder or possibly mobile phone, was inside the room. It is not at all comparable to that mythical anger of Benito Floro , being coach of Madrid in 1994, produced at halftime of a game against Lleida. That was shot from outside the locker room and if you listen well is because the volume of the screams of Floro was high enough.
But not for what happened in the Athletic. In this case it was recorded from within, which only leaves two options: either someone previously placed a microphone or recording was made by someone from the staff, a player or a home worker. Anyway execrable an act, and unforgivable. The Athletic Club, with President Urrutia in the lead, is morally obliged to use all the means at its disposal to try to find the culprit. And if he does hunt, ipso facto expulsion of the club and with the greatest possible public ridicule.
I shall not criticize Bikaia ElDesmarque recording is published, because I'm not a journalist and I know nothing of the profession. Perhaps that is why I can say categorically that if it were up to me, I would never have published.
