Europe League Final 2011: Cabeza de Falcao, walk Helton, potion of a champion Porto

Last night at Football Notes live a great experience. We narrated live final of the 2011 Europa League , the party faced two Portuguese teams: Porto vs. SC Braga. Porto, who started as the clear favorite, got the win thanks to a goal by Colombian Falcao the stroke of half: in the 44th minute took a center fellow Guarín measured from the right to head the ball in a impeccable and psychological score a goal, ultimately, would be final. Just after the restart, the Braga had its best chance in the entire match: a duel between Helton Mossoró and the Blue Dragons goalkeeper saved with his right leg . In fact there was no more. The game was intense at times, but a suckling pig in general. Neither the Port was the other day, nor convinced when Braga was pushed below the scoreboard.

We leave this regard, several strokes of friends who followed us live through our Twitter and joined our broadcast with their comments throughout the game. Juampiespinosa: "Very Light at the Braga, will you take to Paulão and all were inconsequential "Alfonsogranja:" dreadful end, that happens when a team of the moment, as Braga, sneak into the final ... "or Mohomalaga" grand narrative of the game, perhaps the best in the final, follow by twitter .... " These comments speak for themselves in a final that was pretty boring overall. The match started and died practically a blow from a ball clean, no midfield wanted or knew to stop the ball, but all were limited to playing long; Oporto and only at the beginning, it was with some sense looking at Hulk, who seemed superhuman.

The truth is that the final was not exactly a show. Tell that, of course, the fans of Porto, who were able to celebrate another success more than fair given the trajectory of his team this season. Striker Falcao, in charge of wiping out in the semifinals at Villarreal, with the decisive goal yesterday, completing the Europa League leading goalscorer with 17 goals. The season has been very good for the team led by Villas-Boas (on whose story has promised to write soon our friend Bruno Sanxurxo ), which is on course to treble. While in Dublin last night did not offer his best side, I insist.

It was clear which team was great because the Port began with the clear intention to take over from the first minute, whereas the Braga resigned outright to have the ball and limited to areas close behind. Great game one of their central , Paulão, and thanks to their coverage of stocks survived the ease with which his side were overwhelmed. If the stroke of half Falcao dealt a psychological blow to Braga, after passage through the locker room Mossoró could boost the morale of Domingos Paciencia, but we have decided Helton said the ballot and prevented the party won emotion. Because it was almost the last thing you did Braga. Yes, he pressed higher and put more intensity in the second half but was diluted with the passage of minutes but was unable even to generate a sense of danger. Very limited, then, a team that nevertheless has also completed a major campaign.

In Oporto, some of his players were guilty of individualism, for example, Hulk, or James Rodrígue z, which came out in the second half and was on his feet driving a counter with which kill off the match, but was selfish and ended failing. No team suffered, though perhaps it would have done something else if the referee, Spanish Velasco Carballo, had not forgivenSapunaru card clear: almost get it out but, noting that she had been his second yellow card and would have to expel him, kept his momentum and let the shock as it was, in equal numbers. However, it was clear yellow, the Port should have stayed with ten in the second half. Although even then we had ensured that Braga was encouraged offensively. The final was rather poor, but Porto, for everything, is the worthy champions of Europe League 2011.
